One year on from the acquisition of its South West locations, Euro Commercials is celebrating a year of growth, investment and an enhanced experience for customers and employees.
The journey started in June 2025 with full signage rebranding of the buildings and sites to Euro Commercials Ltd, marking an important step in establishing the Euro Commercials brand across the South West locations.
From day one technician recruitment was a priority to enable the tried and tested 4 on 4 off shift pattern to be rolled out across the newly acquired sites. Avonmouth and Exeter successfully adopted these shifts within the first six months, enabling customers to have more flexibility to book vehicles in around their work schedule including weekend and overnight shifts. With the focus on increasing the number of employees across the sites in Avonmouth, Exeter and Highbridge, it was important to grow our HR department with a dedicated HR executive based in Avonmouth, Melanie Bone joined the team to support colleagues across the sites on a day-to-day basis.
Early in the partnership there was investment in new brake blocks for Avonmouth and Exeter, allowing the sites to carry out loaded brake tests, a vital service assessing braking efficiency, helping operators maintain compliance, reduce downtime, and support fleet safety. Investment continued with a new van lift for the Avonmouth depot.
Alongside these visible changes, work also continued to bring the two businesses together. The business was renamed from Euro Commercials (South Wales) Ltd to Euro Commercials Ltd, while systems and processes were integrated to help create a more joined-up business. This has helped improve efficiency internally while creating a more consistent experience for customers.
To create a better working environment for colleagues, investments were made in building offices at the Exeter location to provide functional workspaces. A focus on Health & Safey with our dedicated Health & Safety Manager, carrying out improvements and implementing regular checks to ensure all workspaces are safe.
It was not
just the office workspaces that were invested in, the parts vans and workshop
vehicles were all reviewed and replaced in the summer. A highlight in January
was four new fully equipped 24 hour vans delivered to Avonmouth and Exeter,
with a focus on repairing customers’ by the roadside and getting them back to on
the road as soon as possible.
The business has concentrated over the last 12 months on expanding support for commercial vehicle customers, ensuring improved service capability and reducing downtime.
Jeff Carne, Managing Director, said:
"The acquisition anniversary has given us the chance to reflect on the great work the teams have done, all working towards building strong foundations for the future. Our focus has been on investing in the areas that make a difference to customer experience and vehicle downtime together with investing in the teams. We are immensely proud of what has been achieved and excited for what comes next."
As Euro Commercials looks ahead, the focus remains firmly on continued investment in people, facilities and equipment to further strengthen service capability and customer support across the locations, Building on the progress of the past year, the business is well placed to deliver an even stronger experience for customers, partners and colleagues in the months ahead.
