
Meet Drew Smith: Driving Used Truck Sales at Euro

Euro Commercials is pleased to welcome Drew Smith to the team as a Used Truck Sales Executive, bringing with him a strong background across the commercial vehicle industry and a clear passion for helping customers find the right solutions for their business.
Drew’s journey into the motor trade began at Trade Centre Wales, where he started in valeting. It was his first introduction to the industry and quickly sparked an interest that would shape his career. An opportunity soon followed at a used van dealership in Newport, where he moved into sales and developed a solid understanding of sourcing vehicles, managing stock, and how a busy used commercial operation runs day to day.
He went on to spend over five years in a main dealership environment selling new and used Ford vans, building his customer service skills and gaining valuable experience in the standards expected within a main dealer network. A brief move into the broker market then helped him refine his ability to sell remotely, developing the confidence to build relationships and close deals without face-to-face interaction—an increasingly important skill in today’s market.
Before joining Euro Commercials, Drew took his first steps
into the HGV sector with Glenside Commercial Limited, where he expanded his
knowledge around trucks, body builds, operator requirements, and emerging areas
such as alternative fuels and electric vehicles.
Now in his first role focused purely on used trucks, Drew is stepping into a market he sees as full of opportunity. With rising costs and longer lead times for new vehicles, more operators are turning to used trucks as a practical and reliable solution. It’s a fast-moving area, and one he’s excited to be part of.
Euro Commercials was already on Drew’s radar long before he joined. Having followed the company’s growth and reputation within the industry, it was always somewhere he hoped to be. When the opportunity arose within the used truck team, it felt like the right move at the right time.
After spending his first few weeks at the Cardiff site, Drew has settled in quickly, crediting the team for making the transition smooth and welcoming. He will now be based at the Avonmouth site, a location he sees as key to building strong momentum.
With its excellent transport links, high visibility, and on-site facilities, Avonmouth offers a strong platform to showcase high-quality used trucks and connect with both local and national customers. Drew’s focus will be on making the most of that presence, ensuring stock is well presented, building relationships with operators, and creating opportunities through both passing trade and proactive outreach.
