Service Manager at Euro Commercials Cardiff

A Career Built Around Commercial Vehicles

Ian has worked in the vehicle industry since beginning his apprenticeship with Cardiff Council, building extensive knowledge across a wide range of commercial vehicles throughout his career.

For the last 25 years, he has specialised in the waste and municipal vehicle sector, overseeing the maintenance of refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers and other specialist fleets. This wealth of experience has given him a strong understanding of the importance of reliable servicing, efficient workshop management and keeping vehicles operating at their best.

When the opportunity arose to join Euro Commercials Cardiff, it was an easy decision.

"I already knew Karl Hadley from previous years, and the opportunity to work alongside people I know and respect was something that really appealed to me."

Putting Customers First

As Service Manager, no two days are ever the same. Ian works closely with customers and the workshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired and serviced efficiently while maintaining clear communication throughout the process.

For Ian, great customer service starts with understanding what a vehicle means to a business.

"When a commercial vehicle is off the road, it costs our customers time and money. That's why it's so important to keep customers informed and get their vehicles back into service as quickly as possible."

Whether it's routine servicing, repairs or unexpected issues, Ian's priority is ensuring every customer receives honest advice, regular updates and an efficient turnaround.

Working with an Experienced Team

Since joining Euro Commercials Cardiff, Ian has been impressed by the knowledge and commitment of the team.

"The technical knowledge of our technicians is excellent, and everyone on the service desk is friendly, approachable and always willing to help."

That collaborative approach helps ensure every vehicle receives the attention it deserves while delivering the high standards customers expect from Euro Commercials.

Helping Customers Stay on the Road

Preventative maintenance plays a vital role in reducing downtime and avoiding unexpected repairs. Ian encourages fleet operators and business owners to consider a planned maintenance package to help keep their vehicles in peak condition, minimise unexpected breakdowns and maximise uptime throughout the year.

Beyond the Workshop

Away from work, Ian enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing in the garden. After a day of gardening, you'll often find him unwinding with a well-earned glass of wine.

One fact that may surprise people is that Ian was once a climbing instructor in the Army, an experience that helped develop the teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills he brings to his role today.

Keeping Your Business Moving

At Euro Commercials Cardiff, Ian's focus is simple: minimise downtime, communicate clearly and deliver a service customers can rely on.

"We are here to help. We have a fantastic team, and we are always willing to be flexible in our approach to servicing and repairing your vehicle to keep your business moving."

Whether it's routine servicing, MOT preparation or unexpected repairs, Ian and the Cardiff team are committed to providing expert support and getting customers back on the road as quickly as possible.
