Euro Commercials is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust, supporting the latest phase of fleet modernisation with the supply of 50 replacement Mercedes-Benz Sprinter emergency ambulances.
The new vehicles form part of a wider Welsh Government-backed investment in ambulance fleet renewal, designed to support faster, greener and more reliable emergency care across Wales. The replacement ambulances will help strengthen frontline capability while providing the safety, durability and operational dependability required for demanding blue-light environments.
Built on the proven Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform, the ambulances combine robust engineering with advanced driver assistance technology. Features including stability control, collision prevention assistance, lane-keeping support and crosswind assist are designed to enhance driver confidence and reduce risk during high-pressure emergency responses.
The vehicles also benefit from digital enhancements including Mercedes-Benz Uptime Promise, that allow live performance monitoring, helping to reduce downtime and support more efficient planned repair bookings. With a strong chassis, fuel-efficient powertrain and compliance with the latest emissions standards, the Sprinter is well suited to the daily demands of frontline medical services.
Euro Commercials’ dedicated aftersales support remains a key part of the partnership. Operating across Wales, the team provides 24-hour national support to help keep emergency vehicles on the road and minimise disruption for ambulance crews, patients and healthcare partners.
Euro Commercials has worked in partnership with Welsh Ambulance for nearly 30 years with vehicles visiting the dealerships' locations across South Wales. In 2018 a dedicated Fleet Workshop was opened in Swansea and is now celebrating 8 years of commitment to carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance work on the fleet.
The vehicles will be maintained by Lyn Williams and his team at the Euro Commercials dedicated Fleet Workshop based in Swansea.
The work shop is fully equipped with the latest workshop technology, Mercedes-Benz Genuine Parts and Mercedes-Benz trained technicians, all working to ensure front line vehicles and support vehicles are kept on the road supporting the local community.
Inside, each ambulance has been designed with patients and clinicians in mind. Spacious, ergonomic layouts support improved accessibility, efficient workflow and greater comfort during transport, helping crews deliver effective care when every moment counts.
Lyn Williams, Euro Commercials Account Manager for the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with the Welsh Ambulance Service and to support the introduction of these new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter emergency ambulances. The Sprinter platform has a proven reputation for reliability, safety and performance, making it an ideal choice for frontline emergency services.”
David Holmes, Head of Fleet and Make Ready Services, commented: “Thanks to funding from Welsh Government, we are delighted to confirm the latest batch of 50 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter emergency ambulance replacements planned for later in the year. Our priority is always the safety of our patients and staff, and these vehicles provide the reliability and advanced safety features we require to deliver exceptional care every day.”
Euro Commercials looks forward to supporting the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust as the new vehicles enter service, continuing its commitment to keeping essential fleets moving across Wales.
