Euro Commercials Cardiff recently delivered a standout Mercedes-Benz Actros 2563 to owner-driver Jon Keegan, in a deal handled by Sales Executive Matt Gray.
Jon first spotted the Actros online across our advertising platforms and, knowing exactly what he was looking for, made the trip to Cardiff to see the truck in person. A conscientious owner-driver with strong knowledge of trucks and his specific application, Jon took the time to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and take it out on a test drive before making his decision.
It didn’t take long for the Actros to impress. The high-spec interior immediately stood out, complete with quality aftermarket extras including a microwave and TV, making long days on the road more comfortable. But it was what sat under the cab that really sealed the deal.
Powered by the impressive 15.6-litre engine producing 630 brake horsepower, the Actros delivered exactly what Jon wanted: serious power, without the need to shout about it. What he appreciated most was how subtle and understated the truck felt when compared with some of the louder, more aggressive alternatives on the market.
As part of the deal, Euro Commercials took Jon’s previous tipper in part exchange – affectionately known as Claire the Tipper. True to form, the new Actros has already earned its own name: Claire the Tipper Two.
Now, 6–8 months into ownership and at the end of a busy season, it’s great to hear how well the truck is performing in real-world conditions. The Actros is pulling strongly, delivering excellent fuel returns and proving itself as a genuine pleasure to drive – exactly as expected.
Jon recently shared his own feedback on the truck:
“We’ve just come to the end of our season and the truck is going really well. It passes most trucks on the motorway even when fully loaded and pulls exceptionally well. After 25,000 miles and its first service, it’s really opening up. It’s a pleasure to drive and I’m genuinely very happy with it. We’re averaging around 9 mpg.”
Jon also kindly shared photos of the truck at work, taken during tipping operations in farmers’ fields when safe to do so – offering a refreshing view of the Actros away from the motorway environment.
It’s always rewarding to see a customer fall in love with their truck, especially when it continues to deliver long after the handover. A big thank you to Jon Keegan for choosing Euro Commercials, and to Matt Gray for supporting the journey from first click to life on the road.
